"A great begining always searches for an optimistic path"

When I first started working on designing my website, I was actually quite thrilled to set everything up. As you can probably see that this is not a blogging website, rather is a website which is meant to be used for creating descriptive sites for projects. A.K.A. GitHub Pages. But me being a broke student still, I set up my personal website here just to figure things out and also to work on my web development skills.
The start wasn't so much of a hassle. I simply set up github pages for my account and then started off to design the webpage. I started small, just a simple html to begin with. Then I looked at templates. A friend of mine had already designed a website on github for his personal use and I was kind of influenced by it. The first template I selected was a one page resume; very short, precise and to the point stating all the things people looking to hire me should look into. It was way too blatant for my taste but it would have worked nonetheless. After all, I am an Electrical Engineer, and not some web designer; or so I thought.

The Chase For Quality

I am not entirely a perfectionist but I like to make things as perfect as I can so that people don't just say, "Well, its allright but not that well presented. But still an A for effort." Hence began the journey for a good looking webpage.
I knew that there are numerous free templates which looked pretty cool when edited accordingly but the thing I didn't know was that editing it would be a pain later on. I went for CSS styled pages with nifty animation which won't be in the face of the viewer but still subtle enough to make them navigate the webpage more just to try and look for the animations more. I chose a very animation dependant webpage which was very fancy and looked as if its designed to impress the people who like a good UI. It had great moving animations which were very fluent but also didn't come in the way of the user's general need of viewing the information on the site. After everything was set up, a thought crossed my mind, "What if they view it on a phone?" Thus I hurriedly checked the webpage on my phone. Well, to say that I was dissapointed will be kind of wrong, because the animations did work pretty great even on a mid-range android device but the catch was it only worked in landscape mode. Hence I realised that desktop only templates don't play well with potrait mobile screens. Hence the search for a responsive webpage started.
